Shirley Valentine is the story about a middle-aged British housewife, with indulged children and a self-involved husband who is caught in a menopausal rut; she finds herself talking to the kitchen wall while cooking her husband’s supper. Shirley’s friend wins an all-expenses-paid holiday for two to Greece and invites her to tag along. The holiday to Greece echoes her personal journey of affirmation and discovery, and after an exciting few weeks in the sun, she begins to see the world and herself in a different light.

This originally one-woman production is directed by the internationally acclaimed director, Steven Stead, designed by Greg King, lighted by Tina Le Roux and starring award-winning actress, Lisa Robbert as Shirley Valentine.

This fun-filled, comedy was turned into a classic in 1989 by Pauline Collins. Come on a liberating adventure with Shirley Valentine, everybody’s housewife.
