A potent drama production of love between a Zulu boy and an Indian girl in Durban both from culturally conservative families. The script is written and directed by Edmund Mhlongo with Ashwin Singh collaborating as the Script Editor.
Bhekani Mthethwa is an overambitious, rural Zulu boy studying at University, where he meets the girl of his dreams, Latisha. The only problem is that Latisha is Indian and he is not sure if his parents will accept her. Bhekani’s father is a traditionalist and a churchgoer, and his mother, MaNcube, is a practicing Sangoma although a very open-minded person.
Latisha comes from a conservative Hindu family, and her father is a former foreman of Sorghum Brew firm in Durban, where Mthethwa worked as a labourer. Neither family wants to hear anything about the marriage of the two – it’s a culture clash!
