Presented by Think Theatre, in association with The Playhouse Company, Othello marks the 400th anniversary since the death of The Bard. Directed by Clare Mortimer, the production is a vital learning aid for high school learners studying Shakespeare’s great tragedy as a set work. Its core themes of love, envy and betrayal remain as powerfully relevant to the human condition today as it did four Centuries ago.

Durban Theatre Award winner Nhlakanipho Manqele reprises his interpretation of the play’s tragic title role, with Cara Roberts again returning as his ill-fated young wife, Desdemona. The rest of the cast, headed by Clinton Small with his award-winning portrayal of the villainous Iago and Mortimer as his wife Emilia, again features Michael Gritten, Marc Kay, Bryan Hiles, Rowan Bartlett and Darren King. Sarah Richard makes her role debut as Bianca.

For the public performance on 1 March at 19h00, tickets are R100, or R60 for pensioners and group student bookings.
