The Playhouse Dance Residency performs their award-winning piece, If the World was Listening. Coming fresh from the Grahamstown Festival, this periodic-styled piece, is a high-intensity, questioning, and thoughtful dance work.
Performed with prowess, a series of vignettes ask: “What would you say if the world was listening?” Each vignette grew out of the cast’s personal stories shared during the creative process. And it shows. A reviewer at the Grahamstown Festival performances had this to say: “Powerful performances resonate throughout; the dancers are totally engrossed in their movement, in the stories their bodies tell.”
If the World was Listening won the Standard Bank Ovation award.
