The popular 8 piece jazz band “Platform Jazz” have been going for about 20 years. Apart from their successful concerts in and around Durban they have performed at Amber Valley in Hilton, at The Hilton Festival, and at The Village of Happiness in Margate. Platform Jazz have also had sell-out runs at the Rhumbelow and Aliwal theatres this year. Their music is toe-tapping and infectious and includes traditional, swing and Latin Jazz numbers such as “When the saints go marching in”, “Georgia”, “L O V E”, “Almost like being in love”, “Summertime” , “In the Mood” and “Mas que Nada” to name a few. The line up features Cathy Peacock on trumpet, Duncan Wooldridge on trombone, Ian Holloway on clarinet, Jonathan Judge on sax, Bruce Baker on drums, Andreas Kappen on double bass, Melvin Peters on keyboards and Shelley McLean on vocals. Come and chill out with some fab jazz. Their music is finger-clicking good!
