The Nutcracker is an 1892 two-act ballet ‘(fairy ballet”)originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchalkovsky. The Libretto is adapted from E.T. A. Hoffmann’s story. The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. The production will be presented in partnership with Joburg Ballet, featuring the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra.
