The COVID-19 pandemic has limited operations. The Playhouse Company cares about the safety of all its patrons. Below is a guide of how to have a safe theatre experience.


Before arriving at The Playhouse entrance to queue, please ensure that you are wearing your face covering.


On arrival at the venue, please join the queue ensuring that you maintain a safe distance from others (guided by floor markings). Staff will be on hand to assist you.


A paperless screening questionnaire will be conducted by our trained staff.


Our security team will carry out temperature checks as you que with infrared thermometers.


Once your temperature reading has been taken you will be required to sanitize your hands before entering The Playhouse building.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to our theatre! We’ve missed making great memories and having great fun with you and your family!

As we take steps to open our doors again we would like to assure you that we have taken every step to ensure the safe return of our patrons to the theatre with our staff having undergone extensive Covid-19 operations training. While the situation is constantly evolving, we hope any questions you have with regard to COVID-19 and the theatre reopening are answered below.


Where and how can I purchase tickets?

Patrons may purchase tickets the following ways:

  • Online via WebTickets
  •  Contactless card tapping at our box office
  • Purchase tickets your nearest PicknPay
  • Cash at our box office

*Note: tickets will be scanned at the entrance by our ushers.


Am I required to wear a mask?

Yes. All patrons are required to wear face masks prior to arriving at the venue and during the performances. There will be no entry without a mask.


What time should I arrive at the theatre?

It is recommended that patrons arrive 45 minutes before the show starts in order to complete the screening process and be seated on time.


What happens if I arrive late?

As with all theatre performances nobody will be permitted into the auditorium once its doors have been closed.


What will happen once I arrive at The Playhouse?

Upon arrival to the theatre patrons will need to:

  • Enter the queue while maintaining a safe distance from others (guided by floor stickers)
  • Answer a paperless screening questionnaire
  • Have their temperature checked
  • Sanitise their hands before you enter the Playhouse Company
  • Scan their tickets before they entering the theatre


What happens if my temperature is above the required temperature to enter the theatre?

Patrons that have a temperature of 38 degrees and above will be required to sit in the port corche area and wait to be attended by the box office staff. If they have purchased a ticket a refund will be issued for them and their family members.


Will the canteen/bar be open?

No, due to health and safety measures the bar will be closed.


Will there be an interval during the show?



I’m attending a show with my family, will we be able to sit together?

In order to adhere to COVID-19 safety regulations, patrons will be seated in 2’s with 3 seats separating them thereafter. A row of seats behind patrons will be left empty as well.


I have a car, is there parking available at the theatre?

Yes, patrons may park at Albany parkade or Royal Hotel parkade


Is there security external to The Playhouse Company?

Yes there is security that surrounds the perimeter of the playhouse company  right up to the Albany parkade 1 hour before the performance starts and up to 1 hour after the end of the performance.
