The Playhouse Company, situated in Durban, is looking to fill the position of a Creditors Clerk. The suitable incumbent will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities.

· Ensure that accounts payable are processed and reconciled in compliance with Company policies and regulations;

· Ensure that all the documents are accurate before processing in Pastel;

· Match supplier invoices to relevant official purchase orders;

· Capture invoices and credit notes on Pastel;

· Reconcile supplier statements and clearing of old recon items;

· Reconcile creditors control accounts and age analysis;

· Capture weekly creditor’s payments and submit to authorised signatories for releasing;

· Issue & reconcile petty cash and float cash;

· File invoices and payment requisitions;

· Handle all queries relating to creditors;

· Month and financial year-end responsibilities;

· Prepare submissions to internal and external auditors;

· Knowledge of the PFMA.

· Perform monthly stock take.

The suitable incumbent should be able to demonstrate that they meet the following minimum criteria:

Qualifications & Experience:

· Matric

· A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance

· Minimum of 12 months’ experience in a similar creditor’s environment

· Pastel experience

Skills and Competencies:

· Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)

· Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

· Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and prioritize.

· Aptitude for mathematics and accounting or finance.

· Well-organized, able to meet deadlines, good communication, able to work as part of a team.
