The Playhouse Company, situated in Durban, is looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual to the position of Electrician on a 3-month Fixed-Term Contract. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities.

· Replacement, installation, and fault finding of lighting circuits, socket outlets, isolators, and other electrical equipment.

· Repairs and fault finding on motor control centres and distribution boards.

· Fault finding, servicing, and repair of all electrical machinery and related equipment such as motors, variable speed drives (VSD), etc.

· Ensure compliance of electrical infrastructure to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10400

The suitable incumbent should meet the following minimum criteria in terms of qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

· Good electrical knowledge of domestic, commercial, and industrial installations.

· Technical N4 qualification as a minimum.

· Trade-tested Electrician.

· Being in possession of a Wireman’s Licence will be an advantage.

· Computer Literacy-MS Office at an intermediate level.

· Knowledge and good understanding of a centralised air conditioning plant.

· Previous exposure to moving machinery.

· Knowledge and understanding of HVAC

A remuneration package commensurate with experience will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
