UPCOMING SHOW AT THE PLAYHOUSE

JOSEPH CLARK – THE MUSIC OF QUEEN

Date:  08 – 10 May 2026
Venue: Opera Theatre

After two incredible shows in 2024 and by popular demand, Joseph Clark returns to the Opera Theatre stage a space he calls his artistic home, where his journey as a ballet dancer, actor and singer flourished, and where his celebrated legacy began with Queen at the Opera.

This year’s concerts promise an even more powerful experience, featuring local choirs performing some of Queen’s most iconic songs, alongside a soprano delivering a breathtaking rendition of Barcelona. Joined by lead guitarist Axe Lourens, Joseph Clark brings an extensive repertoire of Queen classics to life, including Somebody To Love, Another One Bites The Dust, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody, Made In Heaven, as well as high-energy favourites such as Dragon Attack, Headlong and Tie Your Mother Down.

With over three decades of performing Queen’s music, Joseph Clark has captivated audiences both locally and internationally, with standout performances across Europe, the Middle East, the United States and Africa including a highlight performance in a packed 30,000-seat Gelredome stadium. His journey has even taken him to Zanzibar, the birthplace of Freddie Mercury, further cementing his connection to the legacy he honours.

As praised by the Daily News, Durban: “Joseph’s the champion, my friend! He’s one of the few around the world who can do the mercurial, legendary Queen vocalist justice with panache, style and the glory that was Freddie Mercury in full roar.”

Joseph Clark himself reflects, “I’m not a believer in impersonating great artists, but in giving audiences a taste of their music as a tribute to their genius. I aim to create an atmosphere of magic; nostalgia for some, and a new discovery for others.”

If you have experienced Joseph Clark before, you already know the magic he brings to the stage. If not, this is your moment. Do not miss this powerful and unforgettable live experience.
