The KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra continues its 2026 Spring Symphony Season with a captivating evening of world-class classical music under the direction of internationally acclaimed conductor Debora Waldman. Joining the orchestra is celebrated violinist Lidia Baich, whose artistry and virtuosity have earned her recognition on some of the world’s most prestigious concert stages.

The programme opens with Zoltán Kodály’s Dances of Galánta, a vibrant and spirited work inspired by Hungarian folk traditions. Audiences will then experience Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1, Op. 26 in G minor, one of the most beloved violin concertos in the classical repertoire, showcasing Lidia Baich’s exceptional musicianship. The evening concludes with Jean Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5, Op. 82 in E-flat Major, a magnificent symphonic masterpiece renowned for its sweeping grandeur, lyrical beauty and triumphant finale.
