The KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra opens its 2026 Spring Symphony Season with an evening of extraordinary orchestral brilliance under the baton of acclaimed conductor Barbara Dragan. Joining the orchestra is internationally celebrated pianist Zlata Chochieva, renowned for her expressive artistry and virtuosic performances.

The evening’s programme opens with Johannes Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 83 in B-flat Major, one of the most majestic and technically demanding works in the piano repertoire. The concert concludes with Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8, Op. 88 in G Major, a vibrant masterpiece celebrated for its lyrical beauty, rich orchestration and joyful celebration of nature and folk-inspired melodies.
