The Playhouse Company, situated in Durban, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Arts Coordinator. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:  

• Co-ordinating productions: planning, contracting, management, coordinating, financial control 

• Maintaining a database of Artists 

• Reviewing and providing critical feedback on productions 

• Co-ordinating all logistical, contractual, reporting and administrative issues related to the portfolio 

• Submitting of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports. 

In addition to having a proven track record in the abovementioned functions, the successful applicant will have to be in possession of the following: 

• Arts Management/ Degree in Dramatic Arts  

• A minimum of 5 years working experience in a professional Arts Institution 

• Experience within a Public Sector and knowledge of PFMA governance requirements will be an advantage  

• Advanced level in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)  

• Proven track record in budgeting, administration, planning & organizing 

• Good negotiation skills 

• Ability to work independently
